2 spare tickets for this Saturday's SW show at the Armadillo in Glasgow - Row J Seats 9,10 Will happily accept £40 for the pair which is 2 for the price of 1 virtually! Genuine spares, would much rather they were used than see them go to waste. Thanks

Just read Alastair Reynold's Revenger which I thought was very good indeed and a bit of a return to form - quite original, and I'm very much looking forward to the sequel - planned for 2019 I believe.

Have now started on Ernest Cline's Armada .
Travel & Culture / Sardinia ?

Morning All,

Mrs Bez is proposing Sardinia for our summer break this year.

We're restricted to the summer holidays (she teaches) and we like an "adults only" hotel.

Any recommendations for resorts to head for (or equally places to avoid!)?

Boiler's packed in. Thought it had got cold.

I suppose I ought to be thinking of replacing it after 20 years.
Son of Beast from the East has frozen the condensate pipe again...grrrr

Anyway - weighed myself earlier and I'm still on less than 173, so the moderate alcohol / no chocolate or desserts strategy is paying off. I am however going on a cruise in a couple of weeks when I'll be no stranger to the vodka martini, but perhaps there's a gym on board with spin bikes or a rowing machine or something.

Back from a cruise in the Caribbean now - I must say the freezing temperatures at Gatwick were a bit of a shock after basking in baking heat at Barbados 12 hours earlier.

Anyway I've been downing Red Stripes and vodka martinis like nobody's business as well as eating excessive breakfasts and dessert with every meal but I've just weighed myself and I'm still below 170! Result. I was about 165 when we set off so the holiday has put a few pounds on for sure, but that virus I succumbed to a couple of weeks ago very handily took off quite a few first.

I'd hoped to return to an England enjoying spring weather so I could think of getting the Planet X out for a ride out in shorts and sleeveless top sometime soon, but instead the roads are covered in ice and snow. FFS.
