ha... I wonder?

Have to say, regardless of the content, it's far more comfortable to read Peston's words than have to watch his excruciatingly inept live transmissions on TV. He splutters and stalls like a car with contaminated fuel.

Spanish train manufacturer Talgo has confirmed it is developing plans to open a factory in the UK with a "fully localised supply chain". The company says it will create "hundreds of highly-skilled jobs".

What a damn jolly good idea!
What a damn jolly good idea for an album to synch too :)

Now, has anyone got a damn jolly god idea as to how I can persuade Mrs S that our Wedding anniversary is on the 21st?

Send me your comments in advance and I’ll post them for you  ;D ::)

Where is this exactly? Sounds like a fine destination for a long ride out, if possibly a bit challenging in the elevation stakes.
You used to be able to get a good view from the Car Park of the Three Horseshoes at Spitewinter above Ashover on the A632. It's a private house though now.
I could see the Power Station from the road beyond Shilito Woods on Saturday. Lincoln Cathedral only seen once in my 54 years, it has to be an exceptionally clear day and at my age now I expect I'd need optical aid.

Signed up to do my first - and only - Sportive of the year on the  5th November:

77 flattish miles. All being well.

Downed tools as soon as decently possible and set off on the Planet X on a trip up to Melbourne, along to Ticknall and back down through Ashby. A nice route and a very pleasant evening for it. Dry, not windy, a bit colder than of late but I dressed warmly. The only bummer is having to do Bastard Hill followed by Alton Hill five miles later. But I suppose it's good exercise.

Lots of dead pheasants around on the roads at the moment. Saw an owl just after dark, swooping along the hedgerow between Ashby and Ravenstone.

I was tempted to take the Cannondale again but persuaded myself that there's no point having three road bikes if you're going to use the same one all the time. Makes sense to keep it in reserve for long rides a bit, while the tyres are still relatively new and everything's working well.

I was overtaken on the stretch down from Ashby by a cyclist wearing what I think was one of these:

I didn't see the indicators or the brake light in action, but it did have the flashing red triangle.

Just a bit too spendy for me, at £159.

21.66 miles, 210 this month.

I remember once one Friday I said I'd miss the synch as I was going out on the lash, so you buggers went and synched PoW. Gits.  :o ;)
