That said, there's a lot to like, and it's another testament to the fact that up against the Coldplays and the Elbows of this world, U2 remain far bigger, far better and definitely far richer. :)
You are alluding to Bono and his pals' penchant for tax avoidance, I take it?

More to do with Bono's Facebook shares bonanza that apparently tripled his already considerable wealth.

I’ll give it a 3/5.  It’s good but not great.  The triumph is then still being able to make anything of merit this far down the line.  Agree re the production - far too polished.  Bring on the tour...

Agree on all counts.

Do you know who would have undoubtedly made this album better, not just sonically but in the artistic decisions?   Yep, Peter Collins.  No, really.

Foo Fighters - Wasted Light

The Album that made me re-visit the Foos, I'd previously only really been aware of the singles.....

The Jam - At the BBC disc 2

One of the first bands I saw live, always better than the punk bands that they were lumped in with. Weller remains relevant 40 years later....

LCD Soundsystem

Imagine if David Byrne wrote a bunch of songs for Kraftwerk with Robert Smith from the cure on vocals and David Bowie producing.  One of the records of the year, for sure.

Gary Moore - Run For Cover
Haven't listened to this in years and it showed as my original CD has CD rot and is unplayable  >:(
Fortunately Amazon was able to supply a copy of the Remaster for not too many pounds.
Great but very much a 80s rock album in style and sound.
