I was thinking exactly the same Rob and it's the reason that I go to so few gigs these days. There are only a very small handful of bands that would get me into an enormodome or stadium at near on £100 a ticket and that aint going to happen unless they reform or come out of retirement.

You can't beat Bravado or LVS at The Robin2 on a Sunday night mate. Turn up and pay on the door, jobs a good 'un 😁.

It all depends entirely on what you're into, where they're touring, what you're prepared to pay etc. I agree entirely, it's a absolute ball-ache going through this rigmarole when a big event like this comes up. But, for Pearl Jam I am prepared to go over and above - am sure the same is true for others, with other bands. I am actually quite glad of the little community we have going, where we tend to try to share out the ticket-buying amongst mates who are all going. Not everyone can sit refreshing a computer at 9am on a Friday morning!

My other extreme is just going to my local to see bands play for free :)

Monday was great, even if Eddie's voice was on its last legs. How he managed 2.5 hours still, is amazing. The crowd sung half the words to most of the gig. It was no surprise to me that they pulled night #2, but I'm not sure 3 days off is enough time to recuperate (they've said they're resuming in Milan tomorrow night!). They're hoping to reschedule the cancelled London gig for mid-July, and 17th/18th/19th/20th July are all free at The O2, with the last date on the current Euro jaunt being 14th July in Lisbon. Fingers crossed it's not when I'm on holiday...

Eddie clearly wasn’t at full strength, but he was still better than most.  The band were incredible, I thought.  They sounded so powerful - Mcready in particular was on fire.  Pleased to have been there.

Standing and level 1's now available on AXS - can you chaps not get refunds on your level 4's and re-purchase...

I'd be there myself, for sure, but its on my Birthday and I'll get killed if I go....sheesh, a man can't even do what he wants on his birthday for fear of death...

Thanks for the heads-up but I'll stick with what I have - they are the side of the arena I prefer ( quick exit ) and not too bad a seat.

Its all relative, none of us can get to every gig we'd like to in an ideal world, even Hass, Keith and CQ miss some ;) It's not life or death if you miss a tour if you've already seen a band/artist but missing an entire career is something else; I've done that far too many times in the past and it's one of my biggest regrets. Seeing Roger Waters for the first (and possibly only) time was well worth all the money, inconvenience and discomfort...that gig will stay with me until my memory goes completely or until I die, whichever one comes along first.

No good deed goes unpunished!

No amount of anxiety can change the future. No amount of regret can change the past.

Surely it's your choice what you do on your Birthday?.........or are you hoping she reads this and buys you a ticket.... :) ;)

She actually booked a Michelin star restaurant - which I’ve gotten her to cancel and we are all going to go to my Mums with a takeaway instead.....

Glad I caught at least one of the shows - hoping they return next year...
