TNMS Pet Owners' Thread
« on: January 07, 2016, 23:56:21 PM »
Following on from Rob's (Zoony's) thread about getting a new Jack Russell puppy, and as someone who's had a dog as part of our family for a couple of years or so, and as a few folk have contributed posts about their own pets, I thought it was time for a dedicated thread.

I know there's not just dog and cat owners round these parts, as we have households with all sorts of animals including lizards, snails, tarantulas...

I suspect most of the chat will be about dogs, though I'm sure we'll discuss all sorts of shit...  ;)

I have two rabbits. As with most families they are supposed to belong to the kids but I end up doing most of the work.
But they do mean I can avoid mowing the lawn most of the year.

2 African land snails.

Currently in the process of planning for a Jack Russell puppy. Alicia has 4 fish, and Greg has a tortoise called Neil. If we have a male dog, I have said it will be called Lerxst. If we have a bitch, Alicia wants it called Dotty.

 ::) :P ;)

Our pug is called Buddy, by the way.

We made up a pretentious Crufts kennel name for him:  Buddy Libertine Indie-Rock Rush.  Pretty self-explanatory...  :)

2 cats one black one tabby.  Leppy (short for Leprechaun) and Billy, both named by the kids.
You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!

I am probably the only person here who still has their childhood pet ( although my mum currently looks after him ) - I have a tortoise which wandered into my Grans garden before I was born.
Very low maintenance pet although he is quite an escapologist as I used to build mazes and cages for him to escape from as a child. He also sleeps for 6 months of the year and eats plants and lettuce.

That sounds like my kind of pet.

What the hell are you doing with that woman!? You don't need that kind of negativity in your life ;)

As for myself I'm not allowed pets in my flat, but I spend an inordinate amount of time round at my sister's now she has a Japanese Akita/Staffy cross called Max...
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.

Any garlic butter?

We have three budgies. Well, four at the moment as the Mother in Law's budgie is lodging with us at the moment :(
